Aluminum wiring:
The scorched and melted receptacle on the left has solid conductor aluminum wiring attached to it. This is the reason that insurance companies are concerned with solid conductor aluminum wiring. This receptacle had not been used in years. During an electrical storm this arcing occurred. This could have led to a fire.
